Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 3, 2026
AnyRecipe is built so that your recipes stay yours. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it lives, and the few services we rely on to make the app work.
No account, no profile
AnyRecipe does not require an account. We never ask for your name, email address, or any other personal identifier to use the app.
Your recipes live in your iCloud
Recipes, meal plans, shopping lists and tags are stored on your device and synced through your personal, private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit). We cannot read this data. It is accessible only to you, through your Apple account. Deleting a recipe in the app deletes it from your iCloud as well.
Recipe import
When you import a recipe from a link, photo, or screenshot, the page text or image is sent to an AI service to extract the ingredients and steps. This content is processed transiently to perform the extraction and is not used to build a profile about you. The resulting recipe is stored only on your device and in your iCloud.
Analytics in the app
We use Mixpanel to understand how the app is used in aggregate, for example how often recipes are imported or cooked. These events are tied to a random identifier, not to your identity, and never include the content of your recipes.
Analytics on this website
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and does not fingerprint or follow you between sites or visits. There is no profile of you to build, which is why this site has no cookie banner.
Links to the App Store carry a label saying which page you came from, so we can tell whether the website leads to downloads. It identifies the page, never you.
Crash reporting
We use Sentry to receive crash and error reports so we can fix problems. Reports contain technical diagnostics (device model, OS version, what the app was doing when it failed) and never include your recipe content.
Purchases
Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases and manage subscription status; RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier and your purchase history for this app, never your payment details. Those stay with Apple.
Voice control
Hands-free cook mode uses Apple's speech recognition, subject to Apple's own privacy terms. Voice input is used only to move between recipe steps and is not stored by us.
What we never do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not show ads or share data with advertisers.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
Data deletion
Your data is under your control at all times: delete recipes in the app to remove them everywhere, or delete the app and remove AnyRecipe's iCloud data in Settings → your Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage.
