Looking for a Flavorish Alternative? An Honest Comparison
I make AnyRecipe, so weigh this accordingly.
Flavorish arrived in April 2024 and does the job AnyRecipe does, with the same starting point: recipes from Instagram, TikTok and YouTube that you want in one place. It leans harder on AI than most apps here, adds nutrition, and runs on Android and the web as well as iPhone. Its site says more than 2 million recipes have been saved in it.
Figures were checked in September 2026 against Apple’s App Store listings, including my own, and against Flavorish’s site.
The numbers, mine included
Flavorish: 4.74 stars from around 1,640 ratings. Shipping since April 2024. iPhone and iPad, plus Android and the web. Requires iOS 15.6.
AnyRecipe: 4.5 stars from 2 ratings. Shipping since 2024. iPhone and iPad. Requires iOS 26.
The two apps are about the same age, and Flavorish has sixteen hundred ratings to my two. It also installs on phones AnyRecipe cannot.
What Flavorish does
Saves from social media: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube, in a clean format.
Saves from images and text. Photograph a cookbook, a handwritten recipe or even a dish, or paste plain text, and AI turns it into an editable recipe.
Unlimited website imports, plus “deep” imports that use AI on recipe pages that do not follow the usual format.
An AI recipe generator, from ingredients you have or dietary needs such as vegan, gluten-free or diabetic.
Nutrition and scaling, with detailed nutrition data and servings up or down.
A cooking mode that can run several recipes at once, with the screen kept on.
Weekly meal plans from your saved recipes, and grocery lists organized by aisle or recipe that you can share and edit together in real time.
Collections you can share, printing to paper or PDF, offline access and sync across devices, and no ads. Its listing says it does not sell user data.
What it costs
Flavorish has a free plan its site calls “genuinely generous”, and on the site’s own list that is fair: unlimited recipes, collections, meal plans, grocery lists and website imports. The limits are on the AI-heavy parts: up to 5 imports each from social media, images and text, and up to 5 AI recipes. The part of the site I read does not say whether those reset, so check before counting on them.
Premium makes all of those unlimited and adds unlimited deep imports, at $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year on its App Store page.
Where we actually differ
Where it runs. Flavorish covers Android and the web. AnyRecipe is iPhone and iPad only. In a mixed household that decides it.
Accounts. Flavorish has you sign up, and syncs through its own service, which is what makes Android and the web possible. AnyRecipe has no account and syncs through your own private iCloud, so I cannot read your cookbook.
Nutrition. Flavorish calculates it. AnyRecipe does not.
Shopping list arithmetic. AnyRecipe merges quantities across a planned week and rounds them up to the packet sizes shops sell, so the list asks for the 500g bag rather than 340g of something. Sorting by aisle is common now, and Flavorish does it too; the rounding is the narrow part.
Where Flavorish is straightforwardly ahead
Android and the web. Nutrition. An AI recipe generator. Real-time shared grocery lists and a cooking mode that handles several recipes at once.
iOS 15.6 support, and 1,640 ratings against my 2.
Who should pick which
Pick Flavorish if anyone in your house uses Android, you want nutrition on your recipes, you save mostly from websites, or you want to shop from a shared list together. Also if your phone cannot run iOS 26.
Pick AnyRecipe if you want no account and your recipes in your own iCloud, and a shopping list that rounds to the packets you actually buy.
Try both if you are unsure. Both are free to download, and importing the same five reels into each will show you the difference quickly.
All twenty-two are side by side, with ratings and iOS requirements, in the best recipe apps for iPhone.
Other comparisons: ReciMe is the largest by ratings, Pestle is another close match on social import, Samsung Food has the most generous free tier, and Deglaze has a full free version with Pro for planning.
AnyRecipe is free on the App Store, for iPhone and iPad running iOS 26 or later. Flavorish is on the App Store and at flavorish.ai, and is the one to pick if your household is not all on Apple.
